Elmira A.C. Fails To Appear Here For Tilt With Local Court Tossers

Because of a snow storm, the Elmira A.C. basketball quintet which was scheduled to meet the undefeated All-Syracuse court tossers last night on the State Armory court, was unable to reach here. As a result more than 1,500 persons were disappointed when the team failed to appear. Just before it was time for the game to start, Manager Pierce of the claimants of the Southern New York champions, telephoned Manager Wilbur Crisp of the local aggregation that it would be impossible for his team to reach Syracuse. Two teams were picked, which was made up of All-Syracuse players and some of the leading tossers of the city, which resulted in a victory for the former outfit by a score of 29 to 20. Wilbur Crisp and Billy Rafter of the All-Syracuse quintet played with the losing aggregation. D. Simons and Jim Tormey were the leading point scorers for the winners, each scoring eight points, while Crisp and I. Simons were the stars of the All-Syracuse five. Scarry was the only member of the team who failed to tally a point. The summary:

When the Elmira A.C. failed to put in an appearance at the Armory last night for a game with the All-Syracuse team, two teams were picked up and a game was staged in which the All-Syracuse team composed of Schwarzer, D. Simons, Tormey, Casey and Collins defeated the All-Star team composed of Rafter, I. Simons, Sweltzer, Crisp, Scarry and Burnam. The score was 29-20. In a preliminary game the St. Patrick’s vanquished the Manlius Senecas by a score of 17-16. The summary:
